Mathew Knowles insists he´s had a good relationship with Beyonce for a long time before their rare joint photograph earlier this month (May16).The Crazy in Love singer reportedly had a strained relationship with Mathew for years, especially when he was allegedly fired as her manager in 2011. However, it seemed like they were back on good terms when they posed for a Instagram snap together backstage at her concert in Houston, Texas earlier in May (16).
When asked about being back in Beyonce´s good graces by a TMZ.com reporter, Mathew replies, "Were we ever in bad graces?"
He then admits that every family has had their issues, but that they´ve been good for some time. When asked what happened to make them fine now, Mathew responds, "Now, like now? Or now, like, two years ago?... How about way before that (photo)? You just found out about it, right?"
He also insists that his dismissal as her manager was a mutual decision and he was not sacked, explaining, "It didn´t work like that, we both decided... I developed and taught them (Beyonce and Solange) to be entrepreneurs... we decided it was best for both of us."
Mathew also said he would never be her manager again because he wants to just be her dad.
Beyonce appeared to reference their strained relationship on her new album Lemonade but he refused to comment on the speculation in a recent interview.
"There´s no way that we can get into the mind of Beyonce," he said on SiriusXM´s Make It Plain show. "Only Beyonce can answer who she specifically is talking to. I´d rather not get into speculation... I can only speak of being a proud father."
