Cissy Houston Found Bobby Brown News Special ´Disturbing´

Bobby Brown´s candid TV tell-all has upset Whitney Houston´s mom.The R&B star, who was married to the tragic I Will Always Love You singer, sat down with U.S. TV personality Robin Roberts for his first in-depth interview since his daughter Bobbi Kristina´s death in July, 2015 - and his former mother-in-law Cissy Houston was not impressed when the 20/20 news special aired in America on Tuesday night (07Jun16).
During his taped chat with Roberts, the My Prerogative singer opened up about the death of his only child with Whitney and the diva´s 2012 passing, and Cissy believes the star should have stuck to talking about his own career and his upcoming autobiography Every Little Step - and not resorted to dredging up the painful past.
"Last night I saw Bobby Brown´s interview with Robin Roberts," the 82-year-old singer wrote in a statement on Wednesday (08Jun16). "It was disturbing.
"Although the interview was supposed to promote his autobiography, he never spoke about his parents and siblings and any issues they might have or have had that impacted and may continue to impact on Every Little Step he takes. Instead he chose to concentrate his comments primarily on Whitney. I can´t help but wonder why."
"Whether I would have chosen Bobby for my daughter´s husband is not important because the choice was not mine to make," she added. "She loved him and I believe him when he says he loved her. I only wish he had loved and respected her enough to make some of the negative statements about her and Krissi (Bobbi Kristina) while Whitney was alive."
And Cissy recalled an Oprah show special when Whitney accused Bobby of spitting in her face in front of their daughter, adding, "Bobby was alive and free to dispute what she said. He chose not to. Instead he waited to speak about her when she could no longer speak for herself."
Cissy particularly took issue with Bobby´s 20/20 claims that Whitney snorted cocaine on their wedding day, revealing it was the first time he had witnessed her taking heavy drugs.
"There is no value in my challenging all of his statements... such as his assertion that he had money when he married Whitney or that anyone in my family said he started Nippy (Whitney´s family nickname) on drugs," she stated. "No one blames Bobby for that.
"However, I must say that his story of seeing her do drugs for the first time on their wedding day is untrue (Donna Houston, Robyn Crawford and I were with Nippy the whole time before the ceremony), and more importantly, it forever casts a shadow over one of the most important days of her life."
