Birdman Threatened With Lawsuit Over Trademark Phrase

Bryan ´Birdman´ Williams is facing a potential trademark infringement lawsuit over his Respek song.JV, who owns a clothing company, trademarked the word Respek in 2005 and has been selling shirts and hats sporting the catchphrase for several years.
Earlier this year (16), Birdman released the song Respek and has been selling jackets, shirts and other apparel emblazoned with the phrase.
According to TMZ.com, JV´s lawyer has sent a letter to Birdman threatening to sue him. It is unclear if Birdman has responded.
