Bruce Willis is re-teaming with director Steven C. Miller for new action film First Kill.
The Die Hard star will play a police chief trying to solve the kidnapping of a young boy who witnesses a shooting.
The movie is slated to begin production in Cincinnati, Ohio in August (16).
This will be the second film Bruce and Steven have collaborated on - in 2015, he starred in Extraction, about one man´s bid to free his father, a former CIA agent, who has been kidnapped by terrorists.
Bruce has enjoyed a long career as a leading action man. He is currently gearing up to film the upcoming remake of Death Wish, in which he will take on the leading role, originated by Charles Bronson in Michael Winner´s controversial cult classic. He will play Paul Kersey, a man who turns to vigilante justice to get revenge following the murder of his wife and sexual assault of his daughter.
He will also reprise his role as John McClane in Len Wiseman´s next Die Hard installment, which will focus on the iconic cop character´s back story.
"After doing the fourth one (movie), there were so many conversations that Bruce and I were having about what he put into the character for Die Hard 1," Len told Collider.com earlier this year (16). "That character comes in with so much baggage, emotionally, and experience. He´s already divorced, he´s bitter, his Captain hates him, and doesn´t want him back. So, what created that guy?"
"We´ve never seen the actual love story (between McClane and his wife Holly). We know its demise, but we´ve never seen what it was like when he met Holly, or when he was a beat cop in ´78 in New York, when there was no chance of him making detective.
"It´s always been something I´ve been thinking about, and now we´re doing it. And it ties in."
Len also insisted the actor will be a big part of the new film, adding, "I wasn´t going to do it without Bruce. I´m also not going to do it with Bruce being a cameo bookend gimmick. It´s really working into the plot, with the ´70s having ramifications on present-day Bruce.
"It intercuts in a very fun, imaginative way with present-day John McClane... The film itself will take place on New Years´ Eve 1979, so trying to gear things towards that would be fun."
