Brandy Suing Again To Break Recording Contract

R&B star Brandy has filed a new lawsuit in a bid to break her recording contract with Chameleon Entertainment.

The Boy Is Mine hitmaker signed a deal with label bosses in 2011, after they allegedly promised her a generous production budget to make new music.

However, Brandy claims Chameleon executives failed to honor their agreement after the release of her 2012 album Two Eleven, and then reportedly attempted to block her from recording and releasing new material.

She launched legal action in Los Angeles Superior Court in March (16), and now she has filed similar papers in New York City.

According to the latest court papers, obtained by TMZ.com, company officials even tried to get Brandy to quit her other career endeavors, including live shows and a stint on Broadway, which she fulfilled last year (15) as the star of the musical Chicago.

The 37-year-old is fighting to be released from the deal and is seeking hundreds of thousands of dollars she alleges is owed to her from her contract.

Chameleon bosses have yet to respond to the lawsuit demands.
