Nick Cannon Emptying His Closet For Charity Drive

Nick Cannon is clearing out his closets and donating his old suits to help the unemployed get back to work. The actor/rapper and TV host has teamed up with bosses at U.S. retailer Men´s Wearhouse for America´s National Suit Drive, which aims to collect gently-used office attire to provide suitable clothing for unemployed men and women for job interviews.
"It´s really about empowering the people who are unemployed and helping them get back to the workforce," Nick tells People.com. "At the same time, it allows everyone else to give to a worthy cause. It´s really easy. You just get your used professional attire and donate it to Men´s Wearhouse. You get to kind of pay it forward.
Mariah Carey´s estranged husband, who is known for his stylish looks, reveals he has handed over lots of his old suits, because he really believes in the cause.
"Being someone who has quite a few suits and always looking to give to the community, I always feel like empowering people for the work force is truly important," he says. "I always talk about being able to get out there and help the community and it all starts with jobs."
And always having to dress in sharp clothing as the presenter of reality show America´s Got Talent and his other gigs has been a blessing in disguise for the charity drive.
"That´s the beauty of this situation," he explains. "I´m always trying to be on the next trend in fashion so I´m constantly getting new suits for whether it´s AGT or whatever I´m doing. I want to be able to give."
