Tearful Keshia Knight Pulliam Discusses Divorce For First Time

Keshia Knight Pulliam feels her "integrity as a woman is being attacked" after her estranged husband demanded a paternity test.
The Cosby Show star is expecting a baby girl, due in January next year (17), and announced the news just over a week ago. Just days after the pregnancy announcement, Ed Hartwell, 38, a former American football star, filed for divorce in a courthouse in Fulton County, Georgia on Monday (25Jul16) citing irreconcilable differences and reportedly naming the couple´s "constant disagreements on life changing decisions that couples typically make together," as a reason for the split.
According to The Young Black & Fabulous blog (TheYBF.com), Ed also stated he had doubts over the paternity of the baby, but speaking for the first time following her husband´s filing, Keshia insists she has no doubt that he is the father of her daughter.
"I knew I couldn´t be silent, because this isn´t about money," Keshia told Entertainment Tonight as she struggled to hold back her tears. "This isn´t about fame. This isn´t about social media likes or follows. This is about my character - my integrity as a woman being attacked - and that´s not OK.
"This is his baby. He wanted more children. He was excited once he found out that we were having a little girl. There was never a question about that."
Keshia added she was completely blindsided when her now estranged husband told her he had filed for divorce. The news came as an additional shock given the actress´ claims she had given her spouse another chance after alleging he had admitted to being unfaithful earlier in their marriage.
Now Keshia is doing her best to move on from the scandal for the sake of her unborn child. She insisted the only concern is the health of her daughter, and she is doing her utmost to limit the amount of stress she is exposed to because of this.
"There´s a baby in the middle of this!" she said. "And regardless, if we don´t want to be married, that´s fine, because we agree on that. But this baby is what´s important, and I feel like that´s being lost."
