Netflix Bosses Urge Bird Box Fans Not To Follow Blindfold Stunt Trend

Thu Jan 3, 2019 01:38AM
Netflix bosses are urging fans of Sandra Bullock´s new thriller Bird Box not to emulate the film´s blindfold scenes.
Bullock plays a desperate mom who must cover her eyes whenever she is outside so she doesn´t catch a glimpse of a force that has killed off mankind.
The film has broken Netflix streaming records in the two weeks since its release, and the company´s bosses are thrilled with its success, but they are concerned about fans emulating the movie´s sightless scenes.
Some fans have been carrying out dangerous stunts, known as the Bird Box Challenge, while blindfolded and posting the often painful results on social media, prompting the streaming site´s chiefs to issue a warning.
"Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE," a tweet from the company reads. "We don’t know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl (the kids Bullock´s character looks after in the film) have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes."
