Rap legend Big Boi has been tapped to star as another music icon, Motown founder Berry Gordy, in a forthcoming TV movie.
The Outkast MC took to Instagram to reveal he had joined the line-up for The Bobby DeBarge Story, a biopic chronicling the Switch frontman´s troubled life, which led to his death from AIDS complications in 1995, at the age of 39.
The soul singer, who was also the eldest member of family group DeBarge, recorded hits like Love Over & Over Again, There´ll Never Be, and I Call Your Name for Gordy´s label, according to the New York Post.
Sharing a snap of his chair on set, Big Boi told fans, "Just finished playing Berry Gordy in the ´Debarge´ movie @swirlfilmsig coming Soon !"
The Bobby DeBarge Story, starring Shake It Up actor Roshon Fegan as the tragic singer, is set to air on America´s TV One network in June (19).
