Lil Nas X Asks Mariah Carey To Help Him Beat Her Number One Record

Rap sensation Lil Nas X has invited Mariah Carey to help him break her U.S. chart record for the longest run at number one.

Adding Billy Ray Cyrus to his country crossover hit Old Town Road - and the song´s multiple remixes - has helped the newcomer score 14 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 countdown - two behind Carey´s Boyz II Men collaboration One Sweet Day. The hip-hop star now believes getting her to appear on a new version of the track will give him the push he needs to break her record.

The 20-year-old sent out a tweet to the pop diva on Friday (12Jul19), asking her to consider appearing on a new remix of Old Town Road.

"ok mariah carey lets get this remix in," he wrote.

The request received a mixed response, with some of Carey´s fans urging him to stay away from the singer, while others were all for the idea of a record-breaking collaboration.

Lil Nas X has just released another new remix of his break out hit song, featuring Young Thug.
